I met yesterday Nancy Tucker, international development Manager of the American association PMA on her stand in Fruit Logistica.

She reports that in the States the market is steady considering volume of fruit and veg  traded, and even knows a slight increase in price.

" In fact, with the crisis, people are not going as often as they use to go, in restaurants, the number of lunches and dinners taken at home have increased. When they eat at home, consumption of fruit and vegetable increase."

She goes on: " However the type of products consumed have changed in favour of basics fruit and vegetable."
