A farm that produces organic germinated seeds could be the point of departure for the killer bacteria.
Suspicion falls on bean sprouts for the epidemic that has killed 22 people.
Analyses provide evidence that is expected soon. The German Minister Gert Lindemann, however, said that "the evidence is so strong that we recommend consumers forego bean sprouts."
The ministry said these seeds germinated from an organic farm of Uelzen. The company produces broccoli, radishes, mustard and bean sprouts mainly for Germany, but also with other European countries and the Far East.
