Fruit growers are assessing the damage caused by the frosts of the 1st week of October.
According to local media, most of the production areas of the country have been affected, on the North Island as well as on the South Island.
As far as strawberry production is concerned, the losses seem severe, with estimates ranging from -20% to -100%.
As far as kiwi fruit production is concerned, damage appears to be highly variable, with some growers reporting heavy damage and other growers light damage
