Boyer will inaugurate its first biogas plant in France, which will allow local treatment of organic waste and the production of renewable, thermal energy.
Boyer SAS will produce electricity and heat through anaerobic digestion of waste melon.
The company will inaugurate its first biogas plant in France. The 100 kW installation will supply 1.70 and 1.68 MWh MWh heat per day, the electricity consumption of 150 households.
This power will come from non-compliant melons, unfit for consumption which currently represent a processing cost for SAS Boyer
.
The inauguration will take place Friday, September 16, 2011 at 11 am in the company premises in Moissac Boyer (82).
BOYER SA is the third largest melon producer on the French market, and is the leader for plums and Chasselas. The products are distributed in Europe and France. Philibon created the brand in the 60s and since Boyer has created a network of 400 producers. The company has offices in France, the Caribbean, Spain and Morocco.
