Due to financial world crisis, the business with Russia for South African fruit exporters was strongly limited.
Until now the majority of the produce destined to Russia passed by the biggest ports in Europe as Rotterdam, Antwerp or Hamburg.
Last autumn significantly less merchandise was loaded in these ports with direction to Kaliningrad or to other Russian ports.
Moreover, the prices of fruit increased what also was a drawback for fruit exporters from South Africa.
