Mexico is the No. 1 supplier of avocados to the Japanese market

Mexican avocado exports to Japan achieved a new record in 2019, up 14% from the previous year.

 

 

 

According to data from the Japanese Ministry of Finance, Mexican avocado exports to Japan in 2019 totaled $217 million, 14% more than in 2018 ($191 million) and 47% more than in 2015 ($146 million).

 

 

 

Mexico is the main supplier of avocados to the Japanese market. Mexican avocados represent 90.5% of the total avocados imported by Japan.
