Mediterranean Shipping Company adds capacity and routing flexibility across key regional trade lanes.
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has introduced a new intra-Asia container service branded Firehorse, reinforcing its regional network as demand for short-sea connectivity and supply-chain flexibility continues to grow.
The loop links key ports across Northeast and Southeast Asia, designed to improve transit reliability and create additional routing options for shippers moving cargo within the region. By adding frequency and direct calls, the service aims to ease congestion pressure while supporting time-sensitive cargo flows.
Alongside Firehorse, MSC is upgrading several existing intra-Asia rotations, increasing sailing frequency and optimising port pairings to strengthen schedule integrity. The adjustments form part of a broader strategy to scale regional coverage in step with manufacturing shifts and intra-regional trade expansion.
The carrier said the network enhancements will provide customers with more competitive transit windows, deeper feeder connections and improved integration with its long-haul east-west services, positioning intra-Asia as a growing pillar in its global routing structure.
