Fertilizers price increases range from +22% for the phosphate to +161% for the sulfuric acid
The European Commission will present a fertilizer action plan on May 19, the Commission's agenda of policy announcements showed on Wednesday, to accelerate decarbonization and address affordability issues made more urgent by the knock-on effects of the Iran war on an already tight market. A Commission spokesperson said the plan aims to address structural vulnerabilities and market imbalances, boost domestic production of fertilizer and diversify supply chains, supported by regulatory adjustments if needed.
Plus 86% for the ammonium nitrate
According to CRU Group business intelligence specialized on fertilizers and minerals, the price of urea has increased +75% since the beginning of 2026 and +52% since the start of the conflict with Iran.
