Growing export of Polish fruits to Russia - the chance for higher prices of apples?

Lifting the ban on export of fresh fruit and vegetables to Russia is a chance for boosting the export of Polish apples.
Russia is the biggest recipient of Polish apples.
Every year Poland export about 300 - 400 thousand tons of apples to Russian market. In this season in order to avoid oversupply and low prices on domestic market, it is necessary to export to the East about 450 thousand tons of eating apples (this year’s crops of apples in Poland were assessed at about 1.3 million tons).
Lifting the ban on export to Russia should simplify trade procedures and lower their costs, and consequently to contribute to the greater competitiveness of Polish apples on the Russian market. One can already notice the bigger export to the East although prices of apples are still low. However everyone hopes that since January prices of high quality export apples should start growing.
