A highly integrated automation strategy, patented energy reduction technology and the most advanced biological research will be the 3 main pillars of the success of this project (Image Intelligent Growth Solutions)
Initiated by the James Hutton Institute and IGS (Intelligent Growth Solutions), Scotland's first "indoor" vertical farm will start production in a few months.
This "indoor" vertical farm is being built on the James Hutton Institute in Invergowrie, near Dundee. James Hutton Institute's knowledge of plant science and IGS's entrepreneurial spirit will make it possible to conduct a large scale trial of the UK's first most innovative indoor vertical farm.
The adoption of the TCEA (Total Controlled Environment Agriculture) principles in which all parameters can be controlled allows the development of high quality production with minimal waste (energy, inputs, water).
