The apricot harvest in Europe is estimated at 514,561 tonnes

The year 2022 will be the 3rd year in a row where European apricot production will be in deficit compared to average production (Photo: medfel).
In 2022 the apricot harvest in Europe (Italy, Greece, Spain, France) should reach 514,651 tonnes, according to estimates announced at the medFEL 2022 show.
According to the Europêch'2022 estimates announced at the medFEL trade fair, Italy should produce 262,686 tonnes of apricots, Greece 64,500 tonnes, Spain 59,011 tonnes and France 128,364 tonnes. That is a total of 514,561 tonnes.
This 2022 harvest represents +31% compared to the 2021 harvest which, with 393,313 tonnes, had been very short, but -8% compared to the 2016-2020 average established at 560,319 tonnes.
This year, frost was present from March in Greece and Italy and at the beginning of April in France and Spain. The intensity of this frost was less than last year and the damage is less significant, with the exception of Spain, which this year is the most affected country.
