Why settle for round cucumbers?

In southern Israel, in the Arava desert, Ein-Yahav, farmers produce surprising cucumbers: heart-shaped and star-shaped. Culture technique is kept secret, but must be based on molds like those used in Japan to get square watermelons.

The demand surprised the producers who can offer only a few hundred pounds a week. The site Ein Yahav, also produces other fruits and vegetables including peppers, watermelons, squash, very much appreciated by the country.
