The year 2021 marks the recovery for Argentinian lemons

After several years in which export volumes were considered low, 2021 seems to mark the recovery for Argentinian lemons, which recorded an increase of +6.89% compared to 2020 and +13.37% compared to 2019.
ACNOA (Asociación Citrícola del Noroeste Argentino) has published its data for 2021: the volume of lemons exported reached 265,167 tonnes. This represents an increase of +6.89% compared to the 248,066 tonnes exported in 2020 and an increase of 13.37% compared to the 233,879 tonnes exported in 2019.
In 2021, the main destinations for Argentinian lemons were: Europe (121,832 tonnes), the United States (73,004 tonnes), Russia (41,197 tonnes), China and Hong Kong (5,892 tonnes), and other countries in America and the world (23,239 tonnes).
According to ACNOA, the total volume of citrus fruit exported by Argentina in 2021 will reach 403,363 tonnes of citrus fruit, divided into 265,167 tonnes of lemons, 85,187 tonnes of oranges, 52,089 tonnes of mandarins and 919 tonnes of pomelos.
