New record in sight for Dutch onion exports

In the Netherlands, a few weeks before the end of the onion export season, the volume exported is already higher than the volume of the previous season.
According to Holland Onions onion exports for this season, up to and including week 21, amount to more than 1,218,000 tonnes. That is approximately +7% compared to the 1,136,000 tonnes exported during the 2020-21 season.
With 132 countries this season, the number of destination markets increased compared to the previous season (128).
Regarding the destination markets, Holland Onions specifies that Senegal imported 175,000 tonnes of Dutch onions, Côte d'Ivoire 171,000 tonnes, Great Britain almost 132,000 tonnes. The markets that have increased their demand the most compared to the previous season are Indonesia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, Finland.
