The tradition of strawberries at Wimbledon was followed by the country, will the other event be celebrated this year with strawberries and cream?
For British strawberries year is auspicious.
British strawberries during the Wimbledon tennis tournament beat their sales record. 8000 tons of strawberries were sold during the fortnight of the tournament, almost 40% more than last year.
This record can be explained by the arrival of summer temperatures and the victory of Andy Murray in the final.
Experts predict that sales of strawberries will continue to rise throughout the summer. British production is estimated to 52,000 tonnes, an increase of 5% compared to last year.
