Ukrainian market to be oversaturated with imported fruits

Favourable conditions for work drew lots of new companies to the market, among them Importers were inspired by attractive purchasing prices.
Ukraine increased imports by 1/3.
At the moment, Ukrainians deacresed purchases of fruits by 20 – 30 %, as compared to the same period of the last year.
Domestic market is saturated with imported fruits by 40 %.
The worthiest situation is observed in the citrus segment, which was always characterized by the highest sale rates. According to the official data, 7.500 tonnes of citrus were imported to the country since the beginning of October that is one third up as compared to the last season.
Thus, it will be difficult to sell the whole produce in the short-term period; so many companies had begun to use dumping. At the same time, many companies bear losses.
Only sellers of imported grapes, persimmon , pomegranate and exotic fruits increased prices up to 30 % as compared to the indices of the last year. Sellers forecast that prices will reduce due to low sale rates and short terms of storing.
According to official data, volumes of imported fruits will be reduced by 50 %.
