Evacuations are a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding lives as fire conditions continue to change rapidly.
Chile has declared a State of Catastrophe in Ñuble and Biobío, two regions central to the country’s agricultural production, as wildfires continue to spread under extreme weather conditions.
Authorities have mobilised an expanded emergency response, including firefighting brigades, security forces and logistical support, in what officials described as an unprecedented operational effort for the affected areas.
The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) has issued evacuation alerts via the Emergency Alert System (SAE), urging residents — including farm workers and rural households — to leave high-risk zones as a precaution amid rapidly changing fire conditions.
Emergency shelters have been activated across both regions, while damage assessments are ongoing. Several active fire fronts remain under close monitoring as response teams work to contain their spread.
Authorities reiterated their call for public cooperation, warning that ignoring evacuation orders or safety instructions could put both civilians and emergency personnel at risk. Further updates will be issued as conditions evolve.
