The Alcachofa Vega Baja del Segura association has launched the "Tenemos corazón / We have a heart" campaign. An initiative that aims to recognize all the work that thousands of families do in the region around this culture and its impact on the socio-economic development of Vega Baja.
Mr. Martínez indicated that the objective of the campaign is to make consumers aware of all the people involved in the process and all the efforts made to plant, harvest, handle, package and preserve.
Vega Baja is the main artichoke producing area in the Comunidad Valenciana region and the second after Murcia at the national level. Vega Baja is the main export zone for all of Spain with 50% of sales of fresh artichokes abroad.
