In April 2023, the export of jalapeño peppers from Peru reached a total of 1,319 tons, report local media.
These figures reflect a significant decline of 31.84% compared to the amount shipped during the same month in the previous year, which stood at 1,935 tons.
During the analyzed period, exports were distributed among six different countries, with a notable emphasis on two key markets: the United States and Denmark. The United States accounted for the majority share, comprising 84% of the total exports. Denmark, on the other hand, held a smaller but still significant portion of the market at 6%.
