Uzbekistan has extended its zero-duty policy on 39 food and industrial product categories until January 1, 2026, following a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Originally planned to conclude on January 1, 2024, the extension highlights ongoing efforts to stabilize the prices of imported food in the country.
The list of exempted products includes bananas, citrus fruits (such as oranges and lemons), apples, pears, onions, potatoes, carrots, and tomatoes. It also covers coffee, vegetable oils, canned goods, and other essential items.
The decree also continues to exempt products imported from non-preferential trade agreement countries from double customs duty rates until the end of 2025.
