Good production for apples and pears

Good weather conditions have favored apples and pears production whose crops are higher than last year.

 
For this campaign, a harvest of 418 million kilos of apples is expected, well above the 334 million kilos harvested in 2010. With regard to varieties, Jonagold represents 39%, Elstar 14%, Golden Delicious 15%, Boskoop 21%.

 
Harvesting of pears will reach 300 million kilos or 9% more than last year. Acreage increased slightly; the Conference variety will be produced 12% more than last year, other varieties such as Doyenné du Comice should have volumes comparable to last year.
