Oranges: Further decline expected for the 2022-23 harvest in Florida

In Florida, the 2022-23 orange harvest is expected to reach just 15.6 million cases, or -62.01% compared to 2021-22 (Photo: insidetrackalmanac.com).
According to the latest 2022-23 harvest forecast update from the USDA Statistical Service, the volume for all Florida oranges is lowered by 450,000 cases (90lb = 40.8kg) from the previous estimate.
As of May 12, 2023, the 2022-23 harvest forecast for Florida indicates a total orange harvest of 15,650,000 cases (90lb = 40.8kg), broken down into 9,500,000 cases of Valencia oranges and 6 150,000 cases of non-Valencia oranges (early, mid-season and Navel varieties).
If these forecasts come true, the 2022-23 volume will represent a variation of -62.01% compared to 2021-22 production and a variation of -70.44% compared to 2020-21 production.
