A Bionext report based on data from Skal Biocontrole shows that at the end of 2023, organic farmland totaled 87,416 hectares, plus 5,799 hectares in conversion. In 2023, organic farmland grew by +9.5%.
According to the report, the average size of organic farms is 41 hectares, slightly more than the previous year. The number of organic farms rose from 2,249 to 2,264, up 0.7% on the previous year.
The number of certified processing and trading businesses fell from 3,285 to 3,188, or -2.9%.
