Lima to host the first Peruvian forum dedicated to raspberries

The event is aimed at farmers, technicians, entrepreneurs, researchers and officials involved in fruit production.
In an effort to diversify agricultural production with high-value crops, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) will host the First International Raspberry Forum in Lima on May 13. The event aims to position raspberries as a profitable and sustainable crop, particularly in coastal regions such as Áncash and Piura.
This initiative is part of Agromercado’s broader strategy — a technical unit within Midagri focused on enhancing commercial links for small and medium-sized producers, strengthening family farming, and fostering innovation in the agricultural sector.
The forum will cover global market trends, successful case studies from countries like Chile and Mexico, industrialization processes, value addition, genetic improvement, and pilot projects from across Peru. The goal is to create new commercial and technological opportunities for domestic growers.
The event targets farmers, technicians, entrepreneurs, researchers, and public officials involved in fruit production. It is also expected to launch new specialized internships and concrete actions in technology transfer.
