The alert in the contaminated salad and the return of products concern half of the United States.
The direction of the American public health indicated that a bacterium in the salad was at the origin of an epidemic which struck 3 states.
It is the rare origin of the bacterium E. coli that was found in the lettuce served in restaurants, cafeterias of schools, and salad bars in Ohio, Michigan and New York.
The Freshway Company, in Ohio, which seems to be the salesman of the contaminated salads called back all his products which it markets in 23 states.
The federal investigators continue to look for the original source of the contaminated lettuce sold by Freshway, and direct their searches to the production of salads in Arizona.
