The study shows promising results: potato can cope with climate change.

An American laboratory has conducted studies to measure how plants of potatoes will respond to projected climate change.

ARS (Agricultural Research Service) study the reaction of potatoes plants meet the high levels of carbon dioxide and increased drought. The scientists used  soil-plant-atmosphere research rooms with variations in solar radiation.

The results are promising for the sector. Performance under high levels of carbon dioxide showed a rate 60% higher than that of plants grown under the current  levels. The results of the study are published in "Agricultural and Forest Meteorology."
