Uniban and Fyffes announce strategic alliance

Uniban, the main banana and plantain export company in Colombia has agreed a 50/50 joint venture in the USA with Irish distributor Fyffes. The two companies will have joint ownership of Turbana Corporation based in Florida, the marketing subsidiary in The USA. Turbana has been in business in The USA and Canada since 1970 selling and marketing bananas, plantains and, for about two years pineapples. Uniban are already Fyffes' largest supplier of bananas.
