A common horticultural project between Cuba and China, called Habana-Shanghai, has started in December 2000. It concerns a production in co-operation with the "Empresa de Cultivos Varios de La Habana", which is in charge of the infrastructure and labour, and the Chinese company You-You, which brings technology (equipment and seeds). Production is meant for Habana' s tourist sector.
