California knows the worst drought since 119 years

Emergency situations in California that recorded the driest period since meteorological records exist.

The Governor of the State called on all citizens to voluntarily reduce their water consumption by 20%. Reservoirs and tanks that collect water from the Sierra Nevada are at their lowest level. As well as the reservoir next to Sacramento, the state capital, is 18% of its normal level in January.

Farmers are concerned, these conditions could be dramatic for livestock and fruits and vegetables. Meteorologists explained that a high pressure area on the Pacific, prevented storms and rains to hit California for months, pushing  them to northward, to Canada.
