Development of Turkish logistics for the Russian market
FJ
In recent years, the Turkish Ministry of Economy has developed its logistics capacity, leading the country in 27th place in terms of logistics services, according to the index of logistics performance of the World Bank, with the creation of a special service.
This policy has already materialized with a Ro-Ro line between Turkey and Egypt. Given the importance of the Russian market for the export of fruit and vegetables from Turkey, now plans are being considered for a terminal with integrated connection to the port of Caucasus, in Crimea, with a railway line that has already been implemented between Samsun, a Black Sea port in north-eastern Turkey and the port of Caucasus.
This new link will reduce transportation costs and logistics of Turkish products, while maintaining the quality.
