Turkey at ALIMENTEC 2016

It is the Association of Exporters of Istanbul who was the coordinator of the national participation of Turkey, with 11 companies, which have made Turkish products known to visitors. This event was an opportunity to make many meetings with different food companies, interested in Turkish products. This participation is part of the promotional activities to increase market diversification. 

President of the Association of Cereals Exporters, Pulses and Oilseeds, Zekeriya Mete, highlighted some problems in the countries of South America, particularly the non-payment of exported products. He says a solution could be provided by the barter system. 

This could lead to a rapid increase in the import-export flows by 30% in the short-term, if the system is successfully implemented. Turkey is an importer of sesame and exported by South America.
