Baugur acquires Big Food Group

Icelandic retailer Baugur has completed the acquisition of Big Food Group, which includes wholesalers Booker and the frozen foods supermarket chain Iceland. The group's businesses are now expected to be spun off into separate businesses in the next few months. BFG has sales of £5.2 billion (US$9.8 billion) and 30,000 employees at 950 sites nationwide.
