Pinggu Da Tao peaches have been officially registered as a protected designation of origin (PDO) by the European Union.

Pinggu Da Tao is grown in the mountains Yanshan, the Pinggu District area of Beijing. This is the ninth Chinese product to receive this label,
after Da Suan Jinxiang garlic, Longjing cha tea and Shaanxi ping guo apples.
This recognition come within the 10-10 framework, where the EU and China are committed to give mutual protection to 10 agricultural products.
