For FEPEX, Moroccan tomato shipments exceeded 120% of its export quota.
FEPEX, the Spanish organisation for exports, denounced Moroccan exports that do not meet quotas.
For example, shipments of Moroccan tomatoes to Saint Charles market in Perpignan quadrupled and quintupled in October in November. This increase resulted in a lower Spanish shipments to St. Charles and a fall in revenue.
In October the Moroccan tomato exports to the market of Saint-Charles
totaled 14,277 tons, four times more than the Spanish exports, which reached 3,429 tons. In November, Moroccan tomato exports totaled 27,589 tons, five times more than the Spanish exports of 4,879 tons.
These amounts exceed the quotas established for Morocco of 10,600 tonnes. In October Moroccan exports to the EU amounted to 23,335 tons, representing 120% more than the quota..
