The SE Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference will be held virtually
The Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference, one of the largest educational conferences and trade shows in the southeastern United States, is united growers, suppliers and vendors. The 2021 VIRTUAL Conference, coordinated and sponsored by the Georgia Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA) and the Georgia Peach Council, will be held across three days in Savannah, Ga. next January 7-10.
Even though conference participants are not meeting in Savannah this year, the SE Regional team is still dedicated to bring farmers educational and networking opportunities to help them unlock the unlimited potential for their farm operation. This year it is possible to take part in more than 85 hours of educational programing and browse through the virtual exhibit hall of the Conference without leaving your farm.
The 2020 Conference welcomed over 3,300 members of the fruit and vegetable industry to Savannah for its annual event. SE Regional offered 16 different commodity and production sessions. Session topics included specific commodities such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, citrus fruits, muscadines, peaches and vegetables, as well as important operational topics like business operations, organic production, food safety and roadside markets.
Beth Oleson, GFVGA Director of Education and Food Safety, said conference educational coordinators would continue to bring top-level speakers to each session based on the respective industry needs. “These land-grant extension and research state specialists work to create applicable educational conferences that address specific issues on the farm and in packing facilities,” she added.
