José María Pozancos is relieved as of July 1, after 33 years as director of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers and Plants (FEPEX).
Ignacio Antequera, agronomist engineer has more than 25 years of experience in positions related to the value chain of fruits and vegetables. He will be the new Director of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Exporting Producers of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants, FEPEX, from July 1, replacing José María Pozancos, who has held the position since 1992 as Director of the Federation.
25 years of experience in the sector
Ignacio Antequera is an agricultural engineer with more than 25 years of experience in managing relations between agents in the distribution chain of fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, livestock and aquaculture. A connoisseur of the fruit and vegetable sector since his early career, he began his career working in AENOR with the development and administration of UNE standards for fruit and vegetables, along with FEPEX. Subsequently, he has spent most of his professional career at Global G.A.P., managing different teams and initiatives in an international environment and specializing in building strategic alliances to reach agreed solutions between the different parts of the supply chain on issues such as food safety, traceability and transparency, environment, social issues, and regulatory issues. His most recent experience has been as Sales Director and Global Relationship Development Leader. The Global G.A.P. platform brings together European and British supermarket chains that developed, in the late 1990s, a system of voluntary standards in the agri-food sector, as well as its certification system, which is still in place today.
34 member associations
Ignacio Antequera replaces Jose Maria Pozancos, who has been Director of FEPEX for 33 years, in which the Federation, initially formed by 5 associations, has become the reference organization in the fruit and vegetable sector, with a constant effort of growth, integrating today 34 associations, the last three during this year. Under the leadership of Jose Maria Pozancos, who will continue to join the Federation as a Director, FEPEX has also become a dynamic element, promoting projects such as Fruit Attraction, of which it is co-organizer with IFEMA Madrid, and which will celebrate its 17th edition, from September 30 to October 2.
