Spanish exports of strawberries reached a +10% in volume and +20% in value this year

The Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade ICEX informs in a note that April was the most successful month for Spanish exports of strawberries, with 59,581 tons, followed by March with 56,759 tons and May with 54,954 tons (Customs data processed by the importers-exporters’ association FEPEX).

In value , strawberry exports in the period January-June 2008 amounted 384 million euros, some 20% more than in the same period 2007.

The average price of exported strawberries was 1.81 euros/kilo, 9% more expensive than last year.

France is the main destination Country with 68,978 tons, followed by Germany with 58,871 tons and Italy with 23,032 tons.
