The price of garlic has not stopped rising in Malaysia, due to limited supply.
Since the beginning of the year the price of garlic has doubled according to the Association Malaysia Foodstuff Import and Export after concern of the poor harvest in China, the only supplier of garlic in Malaysia. China is experiencing a production
decline of 30% and this decline weighs on exports.
Malaysian importers are not buying the Chinese garlic but preserving their stocks and selling ony insufficiant quanitities, adding to the "shortage".
