Rains improve artichoke production in Murcia

March rains have improved artichoke quality in the Region of Murcia, Spain, according to Antonio Galindo, president of Alcachofa de España.

The region has 6,000 hectares under cultivation, with an estimated production of 90,000 tons, 40% of the national total. The season runs from November to May, and recent rains have been key to the development of the crop.

The increase in quality has also boosted prices, which have risen in recent weeks.
