13.67% expansion for greenhouse vegetable production

The final balance sheet for 2017 is not yet known, but the figures as of November 28th demonstrate the vitality of greenhouse vegetable production.
According to the services of the Ministry of Agriculture, greenhouse vegetable crops in Russia reached a gross volume of 690 100 tonnes as of 28th of November. This is an increase of 13.67% compared to the same period in 2016 which had recorded a production of 607 100 tonnes.
In the production ranks, cucumbers are largely ahead with 450,200 tonnes harvested (409,400 tonnes in 2016) followed by tomatoes with 229,000 tonnes (182,500 tonnes in 2016). Other vegetable crops reached 10,900 tonnes (15,200 tonnes in 2016).
