A Chinese delegation visited and inspected orchards and packaging and processing facilities.
ABC (Argentinean Committee of Arándanos) announced that an official Chinese delegation has visited several blueberry establishments located in the provinces of Tucumán, Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires, to verify compliance with the phytosanitary protocol concluded between Argentina and China .
Orchards, quarantine facilities and processing facilities registered for export to China were audited jointly.
"We are already entering the final stage of qualifying Argentina as an exporting country for this Asian giant." Asian officials were inspecting fields, packaging, fumigation chambers and processes, where they could check the quality of our product, "said Federico Bayá, president of ABC.
The results of the evaluation carried out by the Chinese delegation should be made public in the coming days. "We think the inspections have been positive, and we are getting closer and closer to exporting blueberries to China, after important negotiations, public-private work and in coordination with SENASA, which will be undoubtedly beneficial for all, "said Bayá.
ABC, which represents more than 80% of blueberry exports from Argentina, brings together regional structures of the sector such as APAMA (Asociación de Productores de la Mesopotamia (APAMA), CAPAB (Cámara Argentina of Productores de Arándanos y otros Berries), APRATUC ( Asociación de Productores de Arándanos de Tucumán).
