Airplane exports increased 146% in volume and 131% in value

Thanks to its agreement with Turkish Cargo, the Fruits & Vegetables sector is experiencing an increase in volume and value of its exports.
Aimed at ensuring rapid delivery of fresh produce to consumer markets, the agreement signed in May 2017 with Turkish Airlines subsidiary Turkish Cargo had positive effects on exports of the Turkish Fruits & Vegetables sector.
Shipments of Fresh Fruits & Vegetables by air cargo reached 4,465 tonnes in the first half of 2018, an increase of 146% compared to 1,812 tonnes in the same period of 2017.
The value of these Fruits & Vegetables exported increased by 131%, from 5.25 million USD in 2017 to 12.15 million USD in 2018. The top three products: cherries (5.94 million USD), morels ( USD 2.6 million) and strawberries (USD 822 000).
These air cargo exports have served more than 50 countries. At the top of the ranking: Norway (2 million USD), Hong Kong (1.2 million USD), France (989,000 USD).
