All countries
Friday 17 October 2008
According to the data released by Freshfel Europe, the citrus production in the Northern Hemisphere Countries included in the survey should reach 21,4 million tonnes, down by 2% compared to last year.
This global figure is however to be analysed in more detail to take into account variation of production in the different growing areas.
Indeed, Spain is expecting a 23% increase of its citrus production to reach 6,5 million tonnes, while Morocco is predicting a 10% increase. Turkey and Israel should only register small increases of their production output. Italy, Cyprus and Egypt should see their production decrease.
