Sica St. Pol de Leon invests to improve its logistics

SICA St. Pol de Leon will invest 100 million Euros over the next 3 years.
SICA, the first French group of vegetable growers and the first horticultural French group, generated a turnover of 250 million Euros for 2010. SICA plans to invest 100 million Euros over the next three years.
SICA Saint-Pol-De Leon plans to build two logistics platforms to optimize its delivery. By 2013, the SICA will reorganize its stations of packaging and shipping .
SICA launches into the piggyback with the creation of Combiwest, a company that will operate a freight railway line between Rennes and Lyon. Another line between Morlaix and Rungis is expected, to eventually make a 30% saving on transportation costs.
The cooperative has 1,500 members who produces 300,000 tons of vegetables per year (cauliflower, tomatoes, artichokes, shallots, potatoes, summer salads, Roscoff onions and strawberries), sold primarily under the brand Prince de Bretagne.
