Apple growers from the state of Washington lack of manpower to harvest some of the "best apples in the world".
Washington state, the supplier of 60% of U.S. fresh apples, is experiencing a problem for crops.
A good harvest is expected at 109 million cases of 43 pounds, the second largest in history according to the Washington Apple Commission. But producers lack the manpower to harvest.
Some growers lack of hundreds of people and others place ads to attract staff
. Experts explain this shortage by increasing border security and the high price of fuel for travel in rural areas.
