"Verafruta was born in 2011 and in 2016 we launched our own production that until today is carried out on 1,008 hectares. Due to the crisis derived from the covid, my partners left the project and I was left alone. That is why I am open to meeting new investors”, says Philippe De Leusse.
Verafruta is a supplier of fruit and vegetables with farms in the province of Alicante, Spain.
Its main markets are France and Spain, and the company is interested in developing new ones, particularly in Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
Its star products are aromatic herbs, stone fruits, grapes from its own production, as well as cherries and Red Globe and Ideal grapes from Italy.
Mr. Philippe De Leusse, Manager of Verafruta, commented that the cherry production this year will have difficulties in yields:
“The development of our cherry this season was going well until flowering. But with the late cold waves and heat strokes during flowering, we had a very weak fruit set with a lot of fruit drop, which suggests a rather weak harvest compared to potential. The good thing is that we haven't had a drop of rain, so the fruit that will remain will have good quality, more flavor and sugar than last year. In any case, at the moment we have much lower productivity than normal. Despite this, we are interested in increasing our presence in Belgium, Switzerland and Germany”, comments Mr. De Leusse.
"Verafruta was born in 2011 and in 2016 we launched our own production that until today is developed on 8 hectares in the Alicante area. Due to the crisis derived from the covid, my partners left the project, and I was left alone. That is why I am open to meeting investors who would be interested in the farms," says the manager.
