"This year, regarding the cherry season, we expect a growth of approximately 30% in the volume of production" comments the commercial assistant of Los Olmos, Mauricio Valenzuela.
Chilean fruit producer Los Olmos constantly strives to ensure that its fruit meets the most demanding quality standards worldwide.
Since the acquisition of their first property in 1996 for the cultivation of fruit trees, they have expanded their production to more than 280 hectares, distributed in 4 orchards strategically located in the Colchagua Valley. This region is widely recognized as one of the main agricultural areas of Chile, stretching from the Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.
“This year, regarding the cherry season, we expect a growth of approximately 30% in the volume of production. Important to note that the industry will grow 15%-20%. In addition, as producers and exporters we are waiting for what happens with the new and early varieties Nimba, Pacific Red and Sweet Aryana. Then there is also Areko, which is very similar to Kordia and has already done quite well last season. It is an important season to see how the market reacts to these four varieties, and it will be the first season that we have a significant volume of them. Worth emphasizing that we expect an early harvest from week 45 of these, given the strategic sector in which they are planted and a peak of shipments in week 49.", comments the commercial assistant of Los Olmos, Mauricio Valenzuela.
