The country is number one in Africa for organic products production and export

Uganda is the leading African countries concerning production and export of organic products.

According to the ranking established by the IFOAM (International Federation for Organic Movement), Uganda is the No. 1 country in Africa for the production and export of organic products. The value of exports increased from USD 4 million in 2003 to USD 44 million in 2013 (latest available data  . An increase of 1000% in 10 years !

NOAMU ( National Organic Agriculture Movement of Uganda) explains this performance by several factors: favorable climate , fertile land and a large number of certified organic farmers. Integrating traditional knowledge and modern methods , organic farming , in which open profitable markets throughout the world , is the way forward for the future of the country according to NOAMU .
