Peru remains the world’s second-largest avocado exporter after Mexico.
Peru exported US$ 917 million in avocados in the first half of 2025, up 16% year-on-year, according to ADEX.
The Netherlands led with US$ 308 million (33.5% of total), followed by Spain (US$ 154m) and the U.S. (US$ 134m, +42%). Other fast-growing markets included the UK, China, Japan, and Russia.
Fresh avocados made up 95.5% of exports, led by the Hass variety. Key producing regions were Lima, La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Ica. Family farmers are playing a larger role, with more than 55,000 hectares now certified for export by Senasa.
Peru remains the world’s second-largest avocado exporter after Mexico, shipping to 39 markets so far in 2025 and pursuing new access in Asia-Pacific.
