The Vanhuyse family started trading fruits and vegetables in 1920, and was the first company build a bigger building off of the Roeselare auction as their older site was too small. After evolvong from generation to generation, the company has starting importing from countries such as France, Italy, Spain, and even South America.
The company now imports fruit from all over the world under brands such as Cibel, Papillon, Bonita, Vanhuyse, and VH. Along the way, in 1992, one of the two Vanhuyse brothers decided to sell his shares to the De Witte group. This year Mr. Stanley Vanhuyse, the only Vanhuyse remaining at the head of the company, has also decided to sell his shares to the De Witte group, making the company entirely part of the group.
